If I were interested in the means and ends of education, and had no books to consult, and no first-hand experience of the classroom, I would talk with Jason Haap. In a few hours, I would have several things to do that just might fix it, and several more things to think about which he has thought about: justice, appropriateness, reform, the good riddance of stupidity and inertia. Though deeply embedded in the practice of education, he is able to see it more clearly than many, and we ought to listen to, and act on, his descriptions of what he sees.
